Packs Of Hope Backpack Drive

McDermott Elementary sits right down the street from our church. In just a couple of months, most of their 300+ students will start the new school year without the essential supplies they need. This summer, the Deacons are launching Packs of Hope—an initiative to fill backpacks with the essentials that can help our young neighbors get off to a strong start.

How can you (and your family) participate in the drive?

Donate & Pack!

Donate: You can donate a backpack filled with the items listed below, donate individual supplies from the list below, or donate funds via https://www.centralhope.org/give/ and write ‘Packs of Hope’ in the donation note. These funds will be used by the deacons to purchase more supplies and backpacks.

Pack: After our August 3rd potluck, our church will gather to pack the bags!

24 Count Crayola Crayons (2)
Jumbo glue sticks (4)
#2 Pre-sharpened pencils (12 – Ticonderoga
brand preferred)
Large pink erasers (2)
Safety blunt tip Fiskars scissors (1)
Wide-ruled composition notebooks (2)
Baby Wipes (1 package)
Bottle of Hand Sanitizer (1)
Large Pencil Pouches (2 – No boxes)

If you pack bags at home or a community group during the summer or have supplies to donate, the deacons are happy to pick them up from your house—just email deacons@centralhope.org!
